You may have heard of Wanda Coleman through her sonnets, particularly the American Sonnets which were an inspiration for Terrence Hayes’ book of the same. I had a hard time choosing—I meant to post two but four insisted. I am trying not to be excessive because social media is so excessive as to be meaningless, which is one of the many reasons I am largely absent from that space. I am still unsure that this space is different enough from socials, but it is part of a journey away from all that & hopefully—through the past—finding a way forward. Here’s Coleman:
